clamped while in car

i was wondering if anyone has advice on appealing a clamping basically i went into a private block of flats next to a pub to reverse my car around. as i was reversing i stopped to check my phone. after a minute or so a women came up to me saying i couldnt park there, i explained that i was simply reversing to get out. at…

I think that if you are in the car with the engine running, then you are not parked.
If that is the case, then you cannot be clamped for illegally parking.
Further, what they did was extremely dangerous, as you could have tried to drive the car without knowing the clamper was there.
