Abusive buyer problems

I had a buyer who started sending me abusive emails both to my email account (hotmail, so I don't think I can block them) and to my Ebay account. I gave them negative feedback to warn other sellers as apparently they've done this before, and now the buyer has got worse.
He's filed a paypal claim for "item not described, and put the reason as:
I gave the seller positive feedback and in return he gave me negative feedback, he says i was harassing him and threatened him, i only said that you have received my payment and you have not gave me positive feedback for saying how fast you received it.
He's also filed a claim with Square Trade, which I don't understand. It won't do anything until I input my card details, so is it a scam or real?
I've reported him to Ebay, who just sent an automated message back and haven't done anything.

Feedback is voluntary you did not help yourself by chasing him for it. I must admit that I would have been a bit peeved if you had chased me for feedback and then when I gave it gave me negative!! Accepted he has gone over the top.0

I didn't chase for feedback! He's saying that he chased for feedback, but in reality he was threatening me and being abusive.lowbrim wrote:Feedback is voluntary you did not help yourself by chasing him for it. Was he directly threatening you in the emails?
Tell him you'll go to the police.0 -
What was the neg you left for?
I know you say you left it because they were sending abusive emails, but why were they sending abusive emails to you in the first place?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
I left the neg because they were sending abusive emails.
I don't know what sparked him to send the abusive messgaes, as I just woke up to find them in my email inbox. But apparently he's done this before to other sellers.Murphy's No More Pies Club #209

Did the transaction go OK?
Did they pay for and receive their item?
I don't understand why someone would send abusive emails if everything was OK.
Were the abusive emails personal to you, ie them saying you are a rubbish seller etc or were they just nonsense?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

I think you have to pay Square trade, so maybe thats why they are asking for card details.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
You'll probably shoot me down in flames for this one. But surely the feedback should be for how the transaction went.
Did he pay on time and did the transaction go fairly smoothly? If so, then perhaps it would have been fairer to leave a positive. If not and he defaulted in some way on your contract then a negative is justified.
But I don't think you should neg someone for sending abusive emails after the event. This should be reported to Ebay via other methods. Whilst your reason (to warn other sellers was commendable) I don't think the feedback should be used for that purpose.0 -
if you have all the abusive emails i can't imagine that ebay would find in the buyer's favour. i don't know anything about Square Trade but I wouldn't give anyone associated with this guy any of my details. good luck!:happyhear0

If someone was potentially going to send me abusive emails, I'd like to be aware of it.headcovers wrote:You'll probably shoot me down in flames for this one. But surely the feedback should be for how the transaction went.

I would want the fully story. Not just to hear they paid on time.0
