We have been contacted this evening by the Credit Reclaim Services. Has anyone had any dealings with this company? What they offer sounds too good to be true!! They have told us how much we are owed by different companies which have mis-sold PPI's to us. We have to pay a fee for each company they contact on our behalf which is refunded to us after 90 days. I have been quoted over $100 (haven't got pound sign) to receive almost $7000 back.

Hi there
Be careful with these companies, always make sure you get plenty of advice on these companies and do not go for these companies who also charge upfront.
I expect you are aware that you can do all this with free advice help, advice and templates from this site.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi, thanks for that, we are very wary and just wondered if there was anyone out there who had dealt with them, we went onto their website and had a "quote" which had been posted on this site, yet when i looked for it, i found nothing, we will do futher research into this, thanks.0

So on the strength of a cold call when they know nothing about you, they have said you could get almost £7k back?
This is despite the majority of contracts being enforceable and statistically its unlikely you will get any money back. The OFT and MoJ have warned claims companies not to make such claims.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. I have also just been contacted by someone from this company concerning payment protection insurance refunds. He said that they were able to see from information given to them by the financial ombudsman services that we have been mis-sold this cover and are therefore due a refund of all payments made since 2002.
He was unable to give me any details of what this was allegedly for, to which company, or how much was owing to us.
I told him that we have no payment protection insurance but even though he had no information, he was adamant that this was not so and their information was correct.
He is going to ring again in a day or so as he is certain that we will think what it is and then they will be able to act on our behalf and reclaim all moneys due to us!!
Can anyone tell me how these companies manage to ring when your number is listed with TPS?0 -

Hi Catlady
We always receive these calls, and also on TPS, if they leave a number take a note of it and report it.
unfortunately if we have taken any credit out over the last few years, these are on data, so its quite easy for them to get hold of the details.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

That was a complete fabrication. The FOS would only have data on your if you had ever made a complaint to the FOS. They would never release that data to any third party without your express consent first.
Be wary, there are a lot of dodgy claims companies out there with poorly trained and unregulated sales reps telling all sorts of lies to get you to sign up with them to earn their commissions.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Thanks di3004.
We haven't taken out any loans or bought anything on credit for over ten years so don't know how this company or others manage to get the number.
I have duly reported them, as I did get a number from the guy from credit reclaim services. As you know, this is not usually the case though as the numbers of such companies are usually withheld or unavailable.0 -

anyone know if credit reclaim services have gone to the wall? I have registered a claim with them, (I did some checking first and all seemed okay) I have tried to ring them a few times recently and only get "this number is currently unavailable"0
