I have dealt with a few Reclaiming companies and you do have to be very careful when you choose them, if they ask for upfront fees always make sure its deductable from the total amount of commision they take and also make sure they are registered with the MOJ.
Just a few simple things can stop you from getting stung, i suppose its the same as any industry there are always going to be cowboys but there are also companies that want to provide a quality service.
Just my thought on the matter... But you have done the right thing in reporting them they do seem to fall under the category of cowboy!0 -
I was contacted by Credit Reclaim Services in May 2009, offering for a fee to claim back interest on 2 PPI we had on seperate accounts. The fee was £45 each account but they discounted this to £79 for the two. After giving us a few days to check them out they rang back and we went ahead, paid the fee which we were told we would get back in 90 days and waited. One account never got off the ground but the other one, which was tied to our mortgage is being dealt with a local solicitor who has been brilliant at keeping us up to date with how the claim is going. However, the problem lies with Credit Reclaim Services, I have been waiting for the refund of the £79, keeping an eye on bank statements but nothing has showed up so I telephoned them. Telephone number no longer available is all I'm getting, so I rang the solicitor dealing with the case for me and they are sick and tired of all the calls they are receiving asking if they have any info on CRS, bottom line is they are no longer trading from the registered address on the letter heads and they have given me an alternative number to try. Solicitor thinks they are still trading but isn't sure where as they have changed locations. My case is still be dealt with reference to claiming back charges but don't think I'll be getting the fee back. Would post the number but not sure I'm allowed please let me know otherwise.0
