Please help with Halifax charges....

I recieved a letter this morning off the Hlaifax bank telling me that a purchase of £9.50 had taken me over my overdraft limit, by £3.50. They then tell me they are charging me £20 for the fee, and a further £28 for going over my overdraft, totalling £48. I have gone over the limit before and paid the charges but it does annoy me that for £3 they charge me near £50.
Is there any way i could get these back now? Or will i have to write a letter and wait?
Thankyou in advance, Sam

Hi Sam, I would try calling them first, and if they don't refund you, I would then request they do so in writing.
I successfully claimed over £700 from Lloyds TSB in unfair bank charges and have submitted a claim for a further £2200 which is on hold until the test case.
No one knows what the outcome will be but you will get the odd pesimist (like the post ^) who will put a negative spin on things!!
There are loads of success stories out there, so don't give up just yet... if you don't ask you don't get!!

Recieved another letter this morning saying they had charged me another £28 for being overdrawn in June, even though i only found out on the 3rd of June. But, I just rang up and they refunded the first £48, so its better than £76.

Cheers for your help!0
