not really cost effect a PS3, blu ray players are £150.

If you really want to play games you can get a 360+blu ray player for less than a PS3...

i would suggest either a ps3 or xbox 360 with blu ray player. with the ps3 you have the HDMI port on the back to play movies in HD, on the 360, you dont get a hdmi port unless you have an adapter or get the elite version which costs over £200. i would suggest going to ebay or any other good auction site to find the cheapest blu ray player available but make sure that you check out the quality of it as you dont wanna spend like £50-£100 on a blu ray player that doesnt work, but its your desicion.

Just want to point out that all 360's have HDMI ports now.

But this isn't about games anyway, as mentioned you can get a blu ray player cheap enough, its just if you will use it.
