Dyson stopped working

I suppose its out of the two year warranty? I had to get Dyson out twice in two years for the same problem, the lead had become damaged inside so I need a new power cable. We have a market stall that deals with repairing all makes of vaccuum cleaners, it might be worth checking to see if you have something similar?
I am on my 3rd DC04 (due to circumstances rather than breaking down) and I still think they are just brilliant, however my mum has one and its a nightmare for breaking down. I wouldn't be without mine though.

I suspect its well out of warranty choccyface2006. I should perhaps confess at this point that I only paid £8 for it at a furniture sale nad have had five months out of it. I have simply been very pleased with it - great for cat hairs. I guess its back to the sale room. I am not desperately practical and will probably electrocute myself if I try any wiring work.0

This has happened with my Dyson.
There are various places on the Dyson where you can take it apart and check for blockages.
Dyson Customer Service is generally very good so why don't you phone their helpline (08705275104) and ask them to send you out a manual(which is actually mostly diagrams showing how all the bits fit together).
I'm not very technically minded but I managed to sort ours0 -
Ring the Dyson hotline - they will help you to diagnose the problem while you talk - they sorted mine out on the phone - the problem was needing to clean all the filters.0

My nan has a Dyson upright that's 2 years old, she lives in Malta so warrantys not an option.
She pushes the Hoover and it's like it hits a wall and won't push forward anymore but will go back, is there anything she could do to get it working again, any thoughts would be appreciated .0
