I know how you feel too Lucifer, I had a really bad time of it just after Christmas when everything was going wrong....after I had been so careful over Christmas too and felt proud for getting people nice & thoughtful presents for not a gret deal of money.

Then about a month ago I had more car problems occur just when I thought I had made some progress.

You just want to scream "Why meeeee?" don't you? But since I joined this forum I realise it certainly ain't just me......life just sucks (financially) at times.

You probably do this already but keep looking at what you have got and reminding yourself of how much worse it could be and count your blessings. You've made a big enormous step in the right direction in starting to tackle your debts - and look at you with your big £2 savings collection! :D

I hope you get your mobile covered with the insurance anyway and I would pursue the cats eye incident with the council as well - if you never try you'll never know.

Thanks guys. I know how lucky I am. I have a great home, kids and hubby, I have a job I love and even a good healthy £2 savers club obsession.

I was just bummed thats all. I think I could have taken it more in stride if it wasn't my first month!!

Would normally reach for the chocolate when I feel down, but because of diet I can't even do that, (am hoping for my 1st stone tomorrow).

Sure Lucifer - it's called cancelling my PPI :rotfl: and moving things about etc , getting £95 for openeing an A&L account as I was gonna anyway (kicking myself for not using quidco to but I didn't know about it when I did the A&L account DOH!) Selling bits on Ebay (including my previous mobile which was and XDA IIs... Just short of £200) But as a rule I should theoretically be able to throw a fair bit at my debt each month from now on as my OH has sorted HIS debts so hopefully he'll have enough money to last him the month and I won't have to help him out for the last 2 weeks each month because he's broke (he earns 3 times what I do but has been a total dunce about how he's sorted his money up till recently) which will leave me a lot more disposable cash even after I have paid my share of the bills etc.
Also pursuing unfair bank charges (matter of pennies I guess but gotta be worth a go! The OH tho should have a fair whack to come back from HIS bank ;) I've written the letter for him and printed it now I just need to convince him to sign the blasted thing!) and an old cheque which I am hoping will provide £517... Cross your fingers!

Ahh crap! I'm sorry to hear about your recent spate of misfortune :( It really does never rain...

How about having a quick stint on eBay to make some of that cash back and to get rid of some unwanted clutter at the same time? It might try and help balance your income and outgoings for the month?

    Good luck anyhow!
