In despair...

Why is it the more we try, the more goes wrong?!!

I thought I was doing well then flippin everything goes wrong. The puppy ate my youngest's shoe... so I had to replace them (and she hadn't gone up a size). A cats eye flicked up and put a whole in the front of my car... now need to repair (excess costs more than repairs). Hubby broke mobile... had to replace (needs it for work).

I know these things come in threes, but its flamin annoying. Of course all of the above were things I hadn't planned for and didn't have in my budget. So the £998.40 that I reduced my overall debt by has now gone out of the window and will end up more like £650

On the bright side I have pretty much realised that if I can reduce debt by £1000.00 per month then this time next year I should owe around £15,000. I intend to go back to university,to retrain and have set myself Sept 2010 to go. My last loan is due to finish in Sept 2011. But come hell and high water I want it repaid before I go to uni. Even if they won't let me overpay. Then I will save enough to pay it off early.

I just hope I have enough strength to make it through the blips and still make a huge impression on my debt (which incidently hubby still doesn't know about - he thinks £100 lasts forever...).

I know exactly how you feel, everytime we seem to get a bit extra money something always happens and we never get to use it for what we were planning.

The other way I look at it is though if I hadn't got that bit of extra money then I would be really out of pocket for whatever went wrong.

I hope you are at least having a good mothers day if not give kid or kids to hubby and lock yourself in the bathroom with a steeming hot bubble bath, a good book and a drink. Have some well earned pamper me time :T

Yep Anniek1969, I know you are right, and it would have just gone straight onto the cc's before and I wouldn't have even thought of it. I was just so looking forward to being able to say how proud I was, that i had managed to pay nearly £1000.00 off and had a really good month. Also it kind of blows a hole in my budget doesn't it.

I am obviously not a natural at this dfw stuff!!

I know how you feel :) This month I got a tad cocky and paid £500 off on my loan because my budgeting was done and I had left a fair bit of spare cash for emergencies... HAHAHAHA right!!!

    - OH car needed new brakes £77
    - Heating oil has gone up and we were down to drops £300
    - new printer (it would have been £40 for 2 new cartridges fr my old dell one...) £70
    - My car needs road tax £90
    - My car will need new brake pads next week £100 (guess as OH was more pricey but only needed 2 and mine will need 4 but they are cheaper)

And I just KNOW I forgot to list somethign but I'm sure that'll give you a fair idea that you are not alone! :)

Chin up it'll get better! :)

Cheers tine. Yours looks just as bad as mine. Hoepfully we will have a better April. Well done for chucking £500 extra at your loan. How on earth did you manage to clear so much off your debts in a month? Got any magic formulas you can pass on?

    nightmare!

also about your car... a mate of mine got her cost of towing and new tyre back from the council over a hole in the road, not bad she got 120 back as I remember. Might be worth speaking to the Highways agency, or the local authority where it happened. It took a while as I remember, but it came :j
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
