Good afternoon all, i don't post much yet but can't believe i've missed out on a whole thread already
. I just wanted to say congratulations and well done to all who have had their babies now and send loads of labour vibes to those in need of them at the moment

I've done so much work today I'm astonished with myself. I still need to get myself into gear and write ~3-500 words on this paper but then the working day is done. Bathroom and toilet are tolerably clean, although I will vacuum both. Most recently discovered bug nest is poisoned and thrown away. Bedroom, computer room and kitchen are tolerably tidy for the moment (my beloved has promised me a cleaning lady for several hours when everything is organised) and a massive dent has been made in the living room. So this evening I am going to do laundry and dishes, nag my love into emptying at least one box from the living room and moving a couple of others, and seeing how much I can get done by myself.
So:
laundry
dishes
vacuuming
living room?
resting

Afternoon all
Still here just not much to say at the moment.
Went to our NCT class last night which was weird, we knew the one couple was having a c-section yesterday so we knew they'd not be coming back, but another one of the couples had the baby on the weekend. It's all seeming a little real now IYKWIM?
Apart from that just suffering like everyone else with the heat but worse still my ankles and legs have swollen up beyond belief - DH did make a joke the other night that we could cut my leg off and use it for umbrellas! I think he was referring to those old elephant leg things people had. Believe you me he was suitably punishedYou laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0 -
I can;t think where would be the correct place for baby 'freebies' to go ??
Anyway - these people are giving away free samples of Organic Baby skincare

Tigsteroonie wrote: »Morning All .... Just popped in to say that I got the results of my quadruple (blood) test this morning, and my risk of Downs syndrom is 1 in 5. Pretty high, but from our perspective it's still a 4 in 5 chance of the baby not having Downs. We're not going for invasive tests.
I think that's a good attitude, Tigsteroonie. My DD is profoundly autistic and has severe learning difficulties. You can't screen antenatally for this at the moment, but statistically if you have one child with this, your chances of having another child who also has it are 1 in 5, as against 1 in 100 for the general population. We did take this into consideration when deciding to go ahead with another pregnancy, but like you decided 80% odds of having a child without this disability was pretty good, and in the event that he or she is in the 20% like their sister, they will be no less loved or wanted.0
