We're watching an episode of Dexter, and someone's getting an early pregnancy ultrasound. She's lying on the bed, knees together, and the US wand is on her stomach.
The embryo, however, is clearly of the sort only visible via DildoCam. Why must they be so ridiculous? And to add insult to injury, they're all standing about looking knowingly at the screen. Nobody has a hint of a cross-eyed "what the hell is THAT?" look on their faces. Pfft.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

I was thinking last night, that although it's assumed baby will have OH's surname, we're not married and my son has my surname (not OH's bio).
I'd never really thought about new baby NOT having OH's surname, but last night i randomly thought that the baby should have MY name, and if OH wants us all to take his name he should marry me?
I don't really want my 2 kids having different surnames, and i don't see why my kid should have a different name to me, but if he wants me to take his name then why not make the commitment and we can all take his name together??
I personally recommend non married mothers to give baby their surname. My poor 13 year old DS has been through 3 surname changes:o
When he was born he had biological fathers surname (we were engaged) but after he buggered off I changed it to my surname. And then I go and get myself married:rolleyes:... DS chose to have my married name.
So the moral of that story is.... he could of just had 2 surnames if he'd had mine in the first place:o:rotfl:
I'm actually really embarrassed and guilty by it all. My poor DS now has to look after and not lose his birth certificate and 2 deed polls so he can get passport etc:eek:BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
I actually just remembered that my maiden name wasn't actually the name on my birth certificate! :rotfl:
So, my parents split up before my mum found out she was pregnant (20weeks). My dad had married someone else by this point so my mum didn't tell him. When I was born I was given my mums surname and that is on my birth certificate. They got together again when my dad got divorced (his marriage lasted a whole 3 weeks).
When I was 8 my parents eventually got married and a note was given to the school that my name would now be my dads surname, but it was never made official. Since then I had been Dawn 'dads surname'.
When DH and I came to getting married (after I had DS1 who took his dads name), it was noticed that legally my name had never been changed, but it was decided that it was not fraud () and although my dads surname doesn't appear on my birth or marriage certificate (nor will it on my death certificate) it is used everywhere else. :rotfl:0 -
Pookie - they tested me 3 times for the sickle cell and thalassemia this pregnancy. Each time they said my red blood cells looked wonky, each time they told me low iron can do that too, and (even though I have a consistent history of low iron and am currently taking iron to boost my already low levels) they still insist on testing it each time. And acting surprised that it's due to low iron. sigh. just makes you wonder sometimes, doesn't it?MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0

Hi guys, just popping in to catch up and say 'still here'.
Had very strong BH's last night, went to the cinema and had one every 15mins for 2 hours, then nothing more. Saw The Hangover, was extremely funny.
My boobs have suddenly grown today, not changed size at all the whole way through being pregnant and today DH says they have become very 'plump' and they are uncomfortable in any bra I put on.0 -
