    Morning all..

Got a fright this morning when I looked through the window into Rhys' room and realised the breathing support machine's screen was completely blank!! Turns out, they have switched it off cos he's breathing on his own, just with a little tube up his nose to give him some extra oxygen :j:j Might only be a temporary thing, depends how he copes but it'll be extra tiring for him now as he's got to do all the work himself. We'll see how he goes.. :)

Got the fab nurse back again, which probably has something to do with him coming off his breathing machines - she seems to like to try something new each time she's on shift. Best thing is, they always seem to have a positive effect. She's really attentive to him and talks to him when she's there (calls him "chicken" :)) which is a lot more than most of the others do.

The registrar wants me to try kangaroo care later to improve my milk supply so hopefully (if he's coping okay, breathing wise) we can have him out for cuddles this afternoon.

Have asked nice nurse about the donor milk and it turns out Rhys doesn't immediately meet the criteria as it's reserved for the really little babies who can't tolerate formula at all - at 34wks gestational age and 3lb 10oz, Rhys isn't small enough, apparently!! They are doing 8ml of my milk topped up with 4ml of formula for the next few feeds to see how that goes.

Am sat here munching on flapjack for breakfast - I heard oats can help milk supply.. any excuse! ;)

We're going to nip back to the house in a while to plan out the kitchen, then I must order the fridge freezer while I'm there (more realiable connection - don't want to have to refresh the page and end up paying twice for a £300+ fridge!).

Hope everyone has a good day :) xx

ETA: Cheapskate, I'm in Grimsby. Happy anniversary, btw :)

Fantastic news elle - that's so wonderful. I'm really pleased for you!

I've been in and out of bed for hours, too uncomfortable to lie down but too tired to stay up. I managed to ruin my entire supply of muslin cloths in the tumble dryer (I didn't know they don't go in there...) so they're currently in a wool wash in the machine with half my free sample bottle of fabric softener to see if that helps any. My beloved is still in bed, something is wrong with his face this morning - all his teeth on one side are really sore, although he didn't fall or get hit in the face or anything that would explain it. I've just noticed that he left his laptop open with Facebook open on the screen, so I'm going to think for a few minutes and then "adjust" his status.

Other than that it's a day of cleaning, and later on I'm meeting friends for coffee, and then some more cleaning. It's a good life - having too much clutter just makes me feel lucky to have the opportunity to have it.

Ignore me. Must be hormones. I'm sickening this morning :)

Well done Hypno! Enjoy it whilst you can - it's awful when you get a new high score and it resets to 0 on Tuesday!!

    elle- that's great news!!

Rhys is showing the world he's a great little fighter!!

no rain (as yet) but not sunny and warm enough to sit in the garden. so more ironing today i think.

had a powercut yesterday and was not impressed. it was the sub station near us (well a big green box) and i bet it was the little shoites who hang round there that did something!!
