Sally, I will be here, am now officially in meltdown!

Does anyone else think its acceptable for a child of 15 to go out to school to do an exam at 9am then go to job after exam and then not bother coming home till 10, without a call or a text or anything. twice in a row......

sammy - thats quite selfish on their part.. but then again - teenagers do that. you can only hope they end up beign solid round whole members of the family and community (like me :))

i was quite a rebel in my younger days if you want some proper stories, lol.

    Hi
    Not at all acceptable Sammy.
Just heating up a Morrison's curry - expired 3 days ago. Not sure whether I dare eat it now.
Had nice day with little Samuel and DD took me to Asda and bought me some clothes. :D

I always let someone know when I'm going to be home, my brother doesn't. I think it's common curtsey and then whoever knows you're safe. I'd do the same if I lived with housemates and I'd expect them to as well. Just a quick text or a note takes seconds.

Well according to everyone in my house I am over reacting. According to OH who isn't here I am over reacting. I think its just common courtesy but DD2 thinks she can do what she wants and screams at me if I dare challenge her. Common teenage problems I know but hard to deal with when not only are you on your own but everyone else seems to be just putting it down to me being tired and emotional. And yes I am, but that doesn't mean she can just do what she likes........

You are not over-reacting Sammy. If she wants to be treated as an adult, she must behave like one. Anybody of any age sharing a house must realise that others will worry if they do not turn up when expected. It only takes a text message. DD2 only left home last year - 26- but always texted me if she was going to be late or stay out. I did the same to her.

    thanks Bookie, tis common courtesy.

I think what has upset me more than anything is that DD1 tried to interfere which blew the issue all out of proportion then OH rang and added his twopence worth .....big sigh i think i should just go to bed...

I think you've got every right to expect a little courtesy Sammy. Not over reacting at all.
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches
