these days this is not the best deal on the market .
It's better than BT but not as good as using Talk Talk for free evening and weekend calls and 18866 for daytime calls and if you register with onetel for international calls you can use onetel directory enquiries for free .

I used onetel a few years ago .My bill was always wrong , at the time I paid them £4.99 per month for evening and weekend calls but they still managed to bill me for calls that should have been free .When I emailed them to complain there reply was " we do not bill you for calls you have not made " .They also charge to phone them to complain about your bill .
There customer service is the worst ,they may have many happy customers but not me .The words don't touch and barge pole come to mind .
  • so even with you signed up to talk talk you can stil use the prefix 18866 to get the 1p min daytime call?

    Regards
  • Talk Talk is not necessarily cheaper - it depends how you use it and if you are in it for the long term !

OneTel is free. Talk Talk is £5 per month (after 12 months)

One Tel give you a £20 credit to use on calls at any time - I'm still using mine 6 months on due to my use of 18866 and mobile inclusive minutes.

So don't take it as read that TalkTalk is cheaper because it often isn't true !

Yea I use Talk Talk for evening and weekend calls
18866 for  daytime landline calls.18866 landline calls are free but 1p connection fee .
some international and mobile calls may be cheaper on
    1898

    for 0870 &0845 numbers use BT 1280
  • call1899.com can have cheaper calls than 18866 at some times too !

I signed up to this package just before BT moved everyone to BT Together Option 1 and has been extremely happy with the free weekend calls available.

There is no time duration limit on the free calls that you make whilst that with TalkTalk is limited to 70 minutes per call or 3 hours to another TalkTalk customer. You can of course hang up and re-dial but you will find that it would not be as easy as you thought if you actually tried to do so.

I have been on a call to a friend for nearly an hour an a half continuously one weekend and that was absolutely no charge at all with One.Tel.

I am not sure I have got this right. If I use my mobiles free minutes via Onetel access Number 0207018 0001 I will only be charged by Onetel for the call, so I could ring other mobiles X network. How much would Onetel charge me. Sorry if I am being a bit thick but I am totally confused, I was going to switch to Talk Talk but now I am not sure. I am currently with Tele 2 and there customer service is so bad you would not believe it.

    Wrong!!

u access their network by dialling their 020 7... number using your free minutes, but u then get billed by them for the 'second leg' of the call -- ie wherever u wish to call overseas or UK mobile or....

there are alternatives depending on what mobile plan u have & with whom
    something missing
