What about teaching people who live in towns/cities to drive on rural and single track roads ;)

    In defence of London!

since I posted the opposite, quite a few saying they find it difficult. Can anyone define it a little more tangibly cos I still say that I find the opposite.

    Some specific examples please?
No specific examples and I've never driven in central London, but London suburb drivers are a lot more aggressive than here. I never noticed it when I lived and learned to drive in outer London, but when I went back to visit I certainly noticed the difference. People just seem more impatient and they drive closer to you. I seem to be in the same habit sometimes - pull away quickly at lights and then feel silly that the car behind me is way back and NOT up my backside like I expected it to be.

My advice to the OP is that getting onto the motorway is the worst bit. Once you're on, you're fine and getting off is easy. Don't panic when joining, keep looking everywhere to be aware of what is around you and always look behind to check your blind spot.

Plan your journey so you know which number junction you need to come off at. There are big signs well before each junction, the number of the junction is in a little square in the corner of the sign. Look out for the right number, then look out for the triple/double/single line signs that show you are coming up to a junction. Indicate in advance and be prepared to slow down quickly if necessary. It might be useful to look on Google maps at the junction in advance so you know what to expect when you come off.
