Does a gas hob and gas fire need an annual service or only checked for leaks?

Hi all

Moving into a new house. I have only ever had a boiler which got serviced yearly. Does a gas fire and hob need an annual service?

Any advice appreciated

I would definitely get the fire done. I've never bothered with the gas cooker but you could probably get the gas engineer to just quickly check it if there are any obvious problems (yellow flame).
