hi,
i have never really had to plan such a long journey, and seem to be having difficuties as i would normally just get a train ticket.
the thing is this journey will take about 8 hours each way on the trian and my young persons railcard is about to run out, and as i am now too old i cannot renew it... and i really don't know if i could face that amount of time on a trian if i had to pay full price too!!!!
i was just wondering if it might be possible to do this any other way. i would obviously like to keep the cost down, but relly have no ides where the closest airport is even...
i think that i may want to use the hovercraft to get to the island as i've never been on one before, and i figured if it would be fun then why not? (please feel free to give me opinions, i will be travelling in early September and have never had problems with sea sickness before.)
any help greatly appreciated.

Are you willing to fly?0 -
I would look at flights:
http://www.manx2.com/cgi-bin/airkiosk/I7/181002i?NM=2&LANG=EN
or
http://www.flybe.com/
You can fly from Leeds direct (with manx2). I don't know the price but Manx (first one) has a price matrix so you can see the different prices both ways over the course of a month. When you consider it takes only 45 mins the price difference (if any) between the train and boat may be worth it.
Please let us know what kind of prices you end up getting.
Edit: A quick look appears to show the flight being a similar price to the boat.0 -
Think the request is for the Isle of Wight, not the Isle of Man. Your second link to Flybe Leeds Bradford to southampton for around £60 return then train to Portsmouth for boat/Hovercraft to the Island might be good though.0
