Have you sold anything and been nervous?!!

I've put a Wii Fit on eBay at 99p no reserve. I'm bricking it. Started the 7 day auction on sunday night and have 4 watchers but no bids.

I've always been confident that things go for their worth but i'm thinking it was a bad time to put it on since the weather is so nice!!

I've seen some go for about £50 but mine has never been opened with board.

Has anyone else been nervous about their items, or do you not like to take a risk and always add a reserve/start at your minimum accepted??

I watched a new, collectible book I was thinking about selling. Noticed that starting it at 99p tended to mean a lower end price, but a £4.99 start tended to improve the final price.

The book wasn't going for more than about £30 though, so perhaps these things are relative

I don't do a 99p start in case I am prepared to sell at that. I have a nervous disposition and have bought too many bargains myself from 99p starts where the seller has poor visibility and no one else has actually spotted the deal.

It used to be a great way of drawing in bidders to start a high value item at 99p and would often result in high final sale prices back when eBay were happy in their own skin as an auction site and showed everybody’s listings equally according to what was ending soonest.

Unfortunately, now that they do not know what they want to be, the number one auction website in the world, or a cheap copy of Amazon, they have this terrible "best match" policy, with "enhanced visibility" and "standard Visibility" and "lowered visibility". Therefore it is now just too risky to start a high end item at 99p with no reserve, as if you are not on eBay’s "favourites" list this month, there is a real possibility people just won't see your listing and you won't get the bids you were hoping for.

I've wanted a Wii fit for aaaaaaaaaaages but I can't really afford one. I've been watching them on ebay for a while now to see what I can get but usually in the last few hours the price just jumps up & up & up & gets to high for me! Is it collection only? I've noticed they don't go for near as much as the ones who offer postage. :)

    i wouldnt worry

My ebay automatically shows things by nearest to my postcode and i always rearrange them to ending soonest so i dont miss out on a bargain so im sure it will shot up in price near the end :o)

I have never searched through ebay using the best result thing i always do it by ending soonest if im payin paypal or distance for collection.

I've offered £12 for postage, after checking with a courier service my friends have used and they quoted £12 - £15 for postage.

But i've also given the option of free pickup.
