Am new to all this so am taking a lot of advice from all the previous posts!
For this week starting sunday 26th:
1. Register Tesco's clubcard online (Told you I was new at all this)DONE
2. Aim for three no spend days. Best ones probably mon, tues, thurs.
3.Day off to be spent in house (Live in city centre, too much temptation and ease to spend money)
-Sub to do's- Clean kitchen cupboards inside and out
- Clothes washing (one day only)
- Hoover house completely (housemate moves out tuesday)
4.List items on ebay. Can only list books as don't really need photos.Problems with uploading from camera
5.Five meals this week to be made entirely from cupboard stock, thank god for BOGOF chicken in tesco ONE DAY SO FAR

7.Take HM lunch to work each day
8. Clear out by front door (live on 1st floor flat)
9.Tidy up bookshelf. DONE
10.Take last bags to charity shop.
Think thats enough to be getting on with.Have always tried to limit myself to £20 for all spending requirements this week. If I can manage that by thursday (pay day) should be able to decrease overdraft to £150! :beer:Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
My 1st posting and away for the weekend so wont go too mad and see how I get on.
1. Stick to grocery budget £60
2. List at least one thing on ebay, I haven't listed since summer so need to get back into it. This will be a holiday fund.
3. Clear clutter from one room and either take to charity shop or put in ebay box.
4. Send some business cards out, get banner up and organise advertising.
5. Fill out business internet banking forms.
6. Get DH to open an ISA
7. Not spend more than £100 when away for the weekend
8. Find a nice piggy bank and try to save a least £10 a week towards mortgage over payments.
9. Make my mind up and change phone provider.
10. Keep heating on to a minimum as read gas meter and we are way over estimate.
11. Chase up £20 owed by advertising company.
12. Catch up on sewing repairs.
(Just to remind me for next week must start meal planning and reduce cc limit.)
Aww no I'm commited to do this now
Zippy
So much for not going mad this week0 -
Anyone observant might notice a bit of a pattern this week as I've thanked everyone posting their goals - this is for being helpful in getting me to do mine this week (and for generally being a lovely warm crowd
)
I've not had a good week at all due to struggling with being ill for most of it and my 'success' is as follows:
1. I've decided the Halifax was too glib saying my 7% account would continue if the dd continued, since the whole thing is set up round the fact it closes at the end of a year. So I'm going to go and labour the point, get it in writing if need be. Also make sure there is an R85 in on that account (Paid as gross) - I did go in at the beginning of the week and do the labouring the point bit, but I didn't remember the R85 so will have to go *again* for this. And quickly before the account year is up.
2. Two no-spend days - one. The nearer the end of the week got the less organised I managed to be, till only Sat and Sun were possibles, and I'd left myself with necessary shopping to do today.
3. Learn to use my new phone - no. It isn't even registered yet because I will need my wits about me to embark on the set up as I've never done it before.
4. Pick up free supermarket magazines to obtain coupons - again not organised enough and have ended up in nearest and easiest place (local Tesco) every time I've had to shop.
5. Spend less time on the pc - probably has happened by default.
6. Install printer so that I can go mystery shopping - I got as far as plugging the lead in but yet again, haven't had the wits to tackle the installation bit. I hope this doesn't mean I'm off their register for being too slow to respond
7. Dispose of some books by whatever means - nope.
In retrospect I'm going to be thankful that several goals were proactive rather than necessary things and move onwards to this week hoping that I feel better.
1. Two no-spend days
2. Action last payment to Virgin card and pay off current spending on Barclaycard and LTSB card.
3. Restack kitchen carousel and update list of freezer contents
4. Start sorting cds into some kind of order so we can find what we are looking for
5. Moderate any emotionally-charged eating, spending or posting
6. Move funds into my account early to take advantage of end of year and interest calculations.
7. Visit new nephew (this is a completely indulgent goal as he's not actually here yet and will be absolutely no chore to go and see when he is!!)Do I Need One Stops All Unnecessary Reckless Spending£2 CSC - £30 :kisses3:0 -
I'm new to this too, so here goes....
1) Cancel newspapers (only weekend but still £10/month)
2) Cancel Sky
3) Stop using coffee machine at work and make my own using the kettle!!
4) No crisps or sweets from work vending machines (will help with diet too!!)
5) Compile menu plan for week using what's in fridge and freezer
6) No food shopping except bread
7) 3 no spend days
...think that'll do for starters!!
Forgot to include :
8) Add more stuff to ebay0 -
Oooooooo
I think it's about time I started this too...
ok here goes.
1- Request overtime at work
2- 3 no spend days (at least)
3- Take home made lunch to work every day
4 - List 10 items on Ebay
5- Give all non selling items from last couple of weeks to charity.
6- Have at least 3 days of meals from existing stock.
ok, that will do for now with it being my first attempt! lol
And to make sure I stick to it, I have already contacted my s/v to book in 5 hours overtime. 4 hours tomorrow night and 1 the following night.
I haven't bought anything at all today.
I will defrost a weight watchers cheese roll and put some beans in a tub for lunch tomorrow, and for tea when everyone orders I will have weight watchers tuna and crispbreads, also will take lots of fruit and herbal teabags!!
And so far there are 3 pairs of shoes in the charity bag!Dream of being mortgage free....

Last Week
1. Sell at least two items on Ebay. Not done. No excuse, just sheer laziness.
2. Start of DFW Holiday at Home (Weds). Aim is to have a 10 day holiday at home spending an average of £5 per day on entertainments etc. Need to finish off list of cheap/free activities and then start enjoying myself! On target. Managed to keep ents below £5 every day so far.
3. Find cheap place to eat out on Mon night - £10 limit. Found cheap place and persuaded friend to try it, but spent £13.50. 6/10 (based on fact that I'd normally spend £20+)
4. Check bank account online three times this week. Done. Getting quite addicted to logging in and managing my money!
5. Take library books back before the due date, not after. Oops. Knew I should have looked at this list yesterday. Will take them back tomorrow so that I only have 1 day of fines.
6. Sort out a few books and either sell via Amazon or swap via ReadItSwapIt Done. Listed 8 books on ReadItSwapIt and swaped two already.
This Week
1. Take library books back on Monday to stop fines building up.
2. £15 max on groceries due to tight budget.
3. Check that overtime has been paid on 31st. Transfer overtime money onto credit card to pay off an extra chunk.
4. Continue DFT Holiday at Home (budget: average of £5 per day on ents).
5. List at least two items on Ebay.
6. Fill up freezer with HM meals in preparation for return to work.0 -
Hi
My goals for last week were:
1) Carry on with the tidying and de-cluttering
YES DONE QUITE A BIT AND HAVE A PROPER PLAYROOM NOW
2) Submit my OFSTED Forms
NO - HAVE DECIDED TO HAVE A FINAL LOOK THROUGH AND POST ON TUESDAY
3) Complete my assignment and hand in -
WRITTEN, JUST A FEW FINAL TWEAKS NEEDED AND THEN HAND IN TOMORROW
4) List a few bits on ebay (haven't done any for ages)
HAVE RELISTED 3 ITEMS - A BIT LAZY BUT AM DISILLUSIONED WITH EBAY RECENTLY AS DON'T EVEN SEEM TO GET WATCHERS ANY MORE - THEY MAY SELL THOUGH
Ok, this week:
1) Post Oftsted forms
2) Sort out car insurance from cheaper quote by swiftcover
3) Make DH's packed lunches every day
4) Make some more home made bread and cakes
5) Try to get some washing out on the line instead of using the Tumble dryer
Think that will do.
Itr0 -
I missed last week so this is from 2 weeks ago.
1. 2 no spend days - Done on both weeks
2. Clear my dressing table and get rid of clothes that I'll no longer wear - sort the clothes into Ebay and charity shop piles - Done over this weekend - my sister went home with loads of stuff so I've made her happy too. I can't believe how many clothes I still have though
3. Finish the jacket that I'm working on for the baby - Not completed
4. Make a meal planner and stick to it. - Not completed. I made a start by getting a wipe board for the kitchen so I can write the meals on there - either roversbloke or I can then start the meal once getting in from work.
5. Clear my stuff out of the baby's room and start on turning this room into a proper nursery. - Done this weekend
Goals for this week are
1. Sort the bloomin meal planner
2. 2 no spend days
3. Eat at least 3 meals at the table (only just got the table in the kitchen and I'm loving eating at a table with roversbloke)
4. Clear out my old magazines and take them down to the doctor's surgery
5. Take my lunch to work on at least 3 days
