My OH thinks I have lost the plot!

One fo my cats came home this evening after a nice long day trying to look bigger than a sheep (we have a field next door) and contemplating whether he can play with the ickle lambs (he's bit stoooopid if you catch my drift) and was proudly sic all over my recently cleaned hallway carpet... I wiped up all the solid (yuck yuck yuck yuck) and yelled through to the kitchen :"hun pass me the baking soda the cats been sick!".... :rotfl: I don't think I have seen quite such a puzzled face for quite a while  first lot of baking soda got must of the minor stains up and the second lot is currently drawing the remains of the main stain up by the looks of it :)

He still thinks I've lost the plot tho ;) Even if I wasn't planning on doing weird things to my ca with baking soda which I suspect was his first thought :rotfl:

Check the pets section of the MEGA Index sticky. There's plenty of advice there.

Mainly NOT to use ammonia based cleaners because cats like it - use vinegar instead.

Also been told if you wipe cats with a cloth and then wipe appliances etc with it should stop cats doing it there but knowing my cat he'll just go and do it somewhere else and its a bit late now.Have to put up with the odour till tomorrow cos I'm too tired to sort it out properly!!

Have you had him "done"? He's marking territory which is usually because they haven't been done OR even a neutered male can revert to marking when moving house or if there is a queen in season near by :)

If he does it when you can catch him then a water spray is a great tool in training cats :) As others have said there are things you can use to deter him from spraying again, have a read o the pet thread on the Index or go non OS and buy a spray from the shops :)

Never heard of wiping a cat and then the furniture...

For tonight... Bicarbonate of soda takes away a LOT of odours :) just sprinkle on everthing he's marked and hoover it up tomorrow :)

Yes I have had him done although you wouldn't think so from the size of his bits! :rotfl: I tend to keep my back door open most of the time and get visited by all the waifs and strays so yes I'm sure he's marking his territory.
