Broadband

I currently have aol broadband which I have connected to a dsl filter which is then connected to an extension cable. I also have my phone connected to the dsl filter. This has always worked perfectly. I have had to get an extra phone however and this has caused problems. It is connected to another dsl filter which is then connected to another wall socket and whenever its plugged in my broadband won't work. Its a pain as I have to unplug the new phone everytime I want to use broadband. Does anyone know what the problem could be and have any suggestions on how to rectify it? Any help would be great!

Take the old phone out and replace it with the new phone and remove the other filter too. This will test the new phone.
If that works OK then the new phone is OK. If it doesn't the new phone is the problem.
Next, put the old phone back so you are back to your original setup and check it's still working OK. Now replace the filter with the new one and check again. If it works, the filter's OK, if it doesn't, the filter is faulty.

Done all that and it still wasnt working. Fiddled about with the dsl, changing it from the wall socket to the extension cable and that did the trick. Thanks for the advice tho!:D
