Please can someone recommend the cheapest PAYG SIM or mobile deal with no expiry. I spend 3 months in the UK then 3 months abroad and wouldn't need the mobile when I am abroad. I use a mobile very little in the UK anyway.
Thanks

Asda mobile is cheap - can't comment on the expiry though. It's tied in with vodafone so the coverage is ok as well.

If there's an asda near you, it's 49p to buy instore. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I considered an Asda PAYG sim card, but found out that the Vodaphone signal is poor or non-existant in my area.0

Although not officially admitted, Virgin PAYG seems very tolerant of low use and several months between calls.
I have a couple of Virgin SIM cards that are still connected after 12 months of inactivity.0 -

credit last for however long you have the phone but the cost of calls for new customers or existing ones has gone sky high. 20p a min to call, 10p a text and you now pay for voice mail. think the cheapest is asda or ikea0 -

The OP has stated that he "uses a mobile very little in the UK anyway". Thus the cost of an odd call is easily outweighed by the fact that with Virgin his phone is more likely to still be connected when he returns to the UK after 3 months away. With Adsa or Ikea, after 3 months it may well not be.0 -
With the new PAYG deal from 3 you can get the following which lasts 3 months
top up £10 you get
£10 calling credit (20p per minute x-network and landlines)
300 texts
2000 minutes to other 3 mobiles
150mb Internet Use
free voicemail, windows live messenger and skype (with skype out available)
the calling credit never expires rest lasts 3 months and sim has 180 day time out so will never go dormant
and if you top up online or through my3 on the handset you will get 600 texts instead of 3000 -

I came across two old Tesco Mobile sim cards a couple of weeks ago. They haven't been used in over two years.
I dialled the balance number and one had £5.19 and the other 19p left on them.
Tesco Mobile calls are half price (10p a call & 5p a text) for five chosen numbers.0
