Orange has today launched a new £5 pay-monthly plan, which includes a handset, in what’s believed to be the cheapest-ever standard mobile tariff.

Dont know if OVP Virgin from Orange was ever class as a standard tariff but if it was that would of been the cheapest one ever :-). Free line rental and free phone only catch was you agree to a 12 month contract. I think you had to pay a £12.50 direct debit setup but was re-credited back £10. the maximum cost (with the Virgin Tariff would be £9.00 (if all 60 minutes were used on different days). The minimum cost would be £3.00 if using 60 minutes on the one day. or £0 if no calls were made that month :-D. Unforuntely Orange saw the errors of the ways and started to remove the subisdy from the handset, than stop matching all the virgin changes and than stop it for new customers.

  • Looked on orange website and cant find this tarriff. Anyone got a link or know how to get the deal?
