of course its a Scotch Pie:D

I've just finished work and picked up a pizza supper for my son, but that chip shop is dead posh

You get the fried pizza in a separate pizza box from the chips :rotfl:though my son says its not the same as getting the pizza dolloped on top of the chips so that the melted cheese sinks on to the chips:D

    Pizza & chips just don't go together:confused:

Pizza is italian, the only side dish served with it should be garlic bread or salad.

Chips go with burgers, fried fish, that sort of thing.

They don't sell chips in pizza express or pizza hut:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Is it a normal pizza like they sell in pizza express?

They just dip it in batter & deep fry it:eek:

Has a pizza not got enough saturated fat without deep frying it:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Its like a cheapie pizza probly like the value ones you buy

then they either deep fry it which is an ordinary pizza supper

or dip it in batter then deep fry it, thats called a pizza crunch

......tho theres nothing very crunchy about it:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

and yep probly hunners and hunners of saturated fat.........thats why if I ate one I'd end up back in hospital getting pain killing injections for biliary colic:eek:

tho it was a simple cheese sauce that sent me there

I've lived in the South of England for over 20 years now, but am originally from the Aberdeen area where I lived till I was in my 20s. This thread has made me really nostalgic!

The thing I now crave more than anything in the world is a Scotch Pie. Until a couple of years ago I could get them in my local Sainsburys but they stopped doing them.

Haven't had one for a year - since friends holidaying in the Borders brought me back some, having been given a detailed description of what it was I wanted.

Second on the list would be rowies (or butteries if you prefer), but would have to get those sent from Aberdeen.

I also love the Doric rapper - my Granda was a farmer who lived all his life in Aberdeenshire and he spoke nothing but Doric. Interestingly enough someone in the family married a German girl and she and my Granda could communicate no problem each in their own language. I'm just a Doric quine at heart.

I married an Englishman nearly 20 years ago, but sometimes I still come out with words he hasn't heard before. Latest was futret (ferret) (after watching Springwatch).
