M & S have an instore notice to say their sale starts 'Boxing Day'...but when is Boxing Day this year with Chrissie being at the week-end....is Boxing Day 'technically' Monday? Soooo confusing...(or is it just me!) ???
Boxing day is Sunday, but I guess not all sotres would open on a Sunday....
If you are talking about the holiday that is in respect of Boxing Day, this would actually be Tuesday 28th as the Monday 27th is the holiday in lieu of Christmas day..
Hope that clears that up !!! :P0 -
Some of the larger M&S stores are open on the 26th Dec, if you go to their website & look under the store locator it has opening times - i think it will mainly be the out-of-town stores that are open. (Holmbush, Shoreham, W Sussex is open on the 26th) ;D0

When is the Swarovski Shops sale starting in London?
thx all0 -
The day after Christmas Day is St Stephen's Day.
Boxing Day is the first weekday after Christmas Day (look it up in the concise Oxford English Dictionary for details).
They usually coincide but not this year, therefore:
Saturday is Christmas Day.
Sunday is St Stephen's Day.
Monday is Boxing Day.
I hope this clears that up.0 -
whilst I'm sure you are right-
think most people just class 26th as Boxing Day

...Well... you learn something new every day !!
However like the previous reply said, the general public at large will treat Sunday as Boxing day, as do M&S
Otherwise we could argue that Christmas Day is next Thursday week! (6th Jan for Orthodox Christians) ;D0 -
