Genie,
I was in Lakeside too today and was horrified by the Next sale. I am glad you were able to find some things for your kids, but us Pirate blokes couldn't find anything! BHS and M&S were particularly good, especially the former, where items were being knocked out at reasonable discounts! Although I did buy one expensive shirt at Allders, that store left me feeling cold too, while Debenhams' sale was a complete bore!
WH Smiths was rubbish, while neither Virgin or HMV were offering anything at a price that would really tempt you to part with your cash. Interestingly, HMV actually had in store discounts somewhat better than those on their web site, while I found a pair of £29 trousers in M&S knocked down to £19, which are not on sale on their web site. I might add that I also decided to buy something (anything!) from M&S' web site on the 25th only to be emailed today with the observation that these would not now be avaible for at least a week! My wife also found that some instore bargains at M&S were actually better than on the sticker; she came out with a sweater for £3.00! In BHS, make sure that the till does read the correct sale price and not the original, there are numerous pricing flaws. Some of the staff are being very good at checking for these, but one I spoke to was dead on his feet having worked a double shift.
May I take this opportunity to thank everybody who has contributed to this Forum over the past year; I have saved an absolute fortune, especially from Argos and Amazon. Who shall we Beta test this coming year? ;D0 -

Just been to Space NK beauty shop, normally this is a massively overpriced Boots but they have an excellent sale. 75% off a lot of stuff, hair gel for £1. Kiehl products at 50% off. Be quick as loads of women in there hunting through the bargain bins!!!0

I could be wrong ;) but I think the voucher says it's £5 off the usual £15 charge.
