I've decided to get our eating habits under control
working full-time has made me very lazy...so I plan to spend £400 this month on food and cleaning stuff etc. which is an enormous amount I know, but less than what I had been spending... a very embarrassed look (which there isn't an emote for)
I did a big online shop at Asda the first week and restocked the freezer and the cupboards.. though I don't know why, as there was stuff in them I had forgotten about!!
So in May I'm going to cut this down to £350 and make sure that I use every single bit of stuff I have to eat in the house!
I can't believe how lax I've got... I was never like this when my girlies were small... always home baked, meals from scratch, sewed and knitted alot of their clothes etc etc etc...
So keep me inline will you girls (and boys!)
ThanksA family that eats together, stays together

I've gone way over budget
and it's still only the 19th. My car failed it's MOT yesterday and I feel like crying because I can't afford to get it fixed and that means OH needs to get two buses to get to work... why can't anything be simple?????

Good luck Mags. Hope things improve for you soon Poppycracker.
I didn't count what I spent last week as we were away from Thursday - Monday. This week is looking quite good as I don't need nappies etc. I also gained £2 in Asda when I queried their misprice policy after being over charged for an item for the second week running.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Well I'm overbudget still, but hoping once the kids get back to school things will be better.
Good luck mags, if you take things slowly, you'll get there.
poppycracker, nowts ever straight forward is it? Hope things get better soon.
Something I've noticed over the last week, my cupboards arent as full as usual, as I've been buying only things we need and using up as I go along, so I can actually see whats in them, think its time to re-arrange the cupboards,(and clean them  ) which will hopefully help me become even more organised.

I am way under budget this month but that is only thanks to having to take my parents shopping again. I have run out of a few things and have a small Tesco delivery coming today which will take the total spent for this month to £150.00Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

right, it's the 20th tomorrow, i get paid, and that means only one thing - the start of my OS budget!! i've given us £35 a week, so we should be ok. plenty of dried pulses instead of tinned should be a great burden lifted.
wish me luck and i'll keep you all posted!!!Monthly Food Budget: out of the window0 -
Dont know what happened this week altho am still under budget so far - its been less than a week since my last shop and still spent £79. Oh well hopefully wont need much at all next week.
Mind you my DS eats fruit till it comes out of his ears and I have been eating much more healthy food recently - think need to make inventory of my freezer very soon!0 -

I am avoiding shops as much as possible, especially home bargains as that always costs me.Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
My "month" finished yesterday and my total for food and diesel was £229.35.
This was split £113.72 for food and £115.63 for diesel. This covers myself, hubby and 10 year old stepson. We all take packed lunches and this also includes toiletries and cleaning stuff - basically anything bought along with food.
Have a budget of £260 so £30.65 leftover. We are going away next weekend to a caravan from Friday to Monday so will use this for maybe some fish and chips and some treats!
New month today - here we go again!!0
