Been sent 2 upgrades, what to do?

I am with T-Mobile and as I was nearing the end of my 18 month contract I became eligable for an upgrade. I found this out by logging into their site and clicking on the upgrades link. The site gives you the option to upgrade online, so I chose the phone I wanted and clicked to proceed. However at some point I accidentally closed the browser window, and wasn't sure if the upgrade had gone through or not. I decided as I'd had no email confirmation I must have closed the browser before the upgrade was processed. I went back to the page and clicked the upgrade link again and it still told me I was eligable. I chose the phone again and got to the confirmation screen.

Anyway the other day I had not one but two phones delivered to me! The upgrade cost me £70 per phone plus £14 in delivery charges, but the retail value of the phone on PAYG is around £400. Part of me wants to keep the phone and sell it on, but I am worried I will get in trouble with T-Mobile. I haven't been charged as yet for the phones, but it will be added on to my next bill. Should I be good and fess up to my mistake (or theirs?), or wait a while and if they haven't contacted me over it, sell the phone?

Probably best to send it back. It's the right thing to do morally, and then you won't have to worry about it.

It's the right thing to do legally as well. We've been here before on this forum, and from a legal standpoint the second phone belongs to T-Mobile and remains their property, even if they sent it to you by accident. If you sell it or otherwise deprive them of it then that is theft.
  • Thanks for the advice I have contacted customer services via their website and am waiting for a response.
