Cant use W800i software
Hello,
Please Help !!
I have bought a Sony Ericsson w800i walkman phone. Never realised, but to use the CD that came with it, for music and photos, the operating system needs to be Windows 2000 or higher.
Has anyone else had the same problem?
My machine is a HP Brio and is about 6 years old. I think it has enough memory, but I cant seem to find the other info to see if my PC would even take XP.
Does anyone know the cheapest way of upgrading from Windows 98, please? I only use my PC to surf really, and edit memory card for photos.
Thank you in advance (I am also going to post on the techies board, cos I am sure someone else must have had the same problem !!)
Thanks again.

Hi,
Your pc should be able to run XP I'd think (might have to add some RAM) - try googling 'XP minimum requirements' or something similar.
As for upgrading to XP - you say you're running 98 at the moment - if you know someone who is a student then get them to buy you a copy of the 'XP Educational / Academic Upgrade' CD. It's a full install and you should be able to find a copy for no more than £70 (Froogle will help there). They don't actually check on your studentness so you could buy it even if you have no student connections.
Hope that helps."Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first." (Mark Twain)0 -
Wow, that was a quick reply - Thank you !!0
