well they're expecting -1.7% for the nationwide figures tomorrow.
Hmm? Didn't we already have those? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
My money was on end of summer 2009. Looks like I was a little late - price declines are definitely over.
Conrad, do you wear a reversible coat in real life?
What will you be saying three months down the line? "Price declines are definitely on the cards for the next year at least"?
I can't help but be amused by your constant about turns. Are you Gordon Brown? 0 -
There was a poll in the metro today about the property market.
Is the housing price slump over?
75% of people said "No, this is a false dawn - there will be more bad news".
And if you check the metro website, the figure is even higher at 96%.

Most people can see what is happening and won't be buying until the market settle down. Quick recovery over.More bearish than bullish at the moment0 -

online and phone poles are easily manipulated. just look at the stuff that the guys at hpc.co.uk are doing. they do this frequently too.

furthermore, I hold the house buying and renting board here is a good source of reference for anecdotal evidence and gathering mood. A lot of people ask talk about getting on the ladder, a lot of people still ask about buying with no deposit. A lot of people just don't notice the economic news or see it as realting to them.0 -
Mr DT
I've waivered for sure and I bottled buying at Xmas, but in general I have maintained the view the market will bottom out this summer. People who maintain a 100% conviction on economic trends are frauds. You have to keep a degree of open mindedness.
Scarce funding should mean prices theoretically ought not to rise much this year though but on the other hend clients are adapting to the new mending landscape with parental assistance and so fourth.0 -

Fair point, but I think there's probably not vast swathes of parents in a position to help their offspring buy property, given the large amount of personal debt in the UK.0 -
