Price of a Domain

Options
Hi all,
I'm setting up a website and have found the .co.uk domain I want on hydrahosts. I also get an email address with the domain and web hosting. All this costs £19.52 for 2 years. This is alot cheaper than I imagined it would be; does that price sound about right?

Ta

Merrie.

    Sounds good,
Check namecheap.com as well as although they're american it can sometimes be cheaper.
And I would check how much webspace and things you get.

£5.98p for the domain name alone, with 123-reg and then you can choose any hosting package, that may give you more space etc, and you can get hosting dirt cheap!

With hosting you pay for what you get. If you were planning on using the site for business purposes you would be wise to pay for a service that either gives an uptime guarantee or has a reputation for reliability, which will cost you more.

If it's just a personal site and that doesn't matter so much then the budget hosts will be sufficient. £20 for two years does sound very cheap indeed; does it come with all of the services you require from it?

Hi Merrie, it sounds like a pretty good deal but it depends on what sort of website you are setting up. If you expect its going to have high traffic or complicated webpages (php, etc) then id suggest your on the wrong package and need a more expensive one.

Agree with markymoo 123 reg (http://www.123-reg.co.uk/) is the way forward!

A lot of bank account phishing attacks being hosted on their servers at the moment, until they sort out their clients, they don't have what i'd call a "stable future".

123-reg here too, cheap, simple and full control either use their webspace (buy extra), redirect to 3rd party space, or change the DNS directly to another server space. Easy, simple, powerful, cheap.
