OH's new Nokia 5800 came with a new O2 sim with £10 credit but now it's used up he wants to use his other existing O2 sim.

When it's in the phone, a small flashing envelope icon appears in the top right hand corner with a 'sim full' message. Only it's not. Far from it, there's only 18 numbers stored on it.

How do we get rid of the flashing envelope?

    Does it mean messages full?

    Try deleting one?

The old phone may have stored first on the SIM, then overflowed on to the phone memory. Newer phones seem to store all new messages in the phone

If it's not that I've no idea

It means the text message box on the sim is full. Just go into the message section of the phone and move them all to the phone memory and the message will go away. . .

Thank you both. It never occured to me or him that it might be a message thing.....we just automatically assumed sim full message = sim numbers stored iyswim. Anyway, deleted some messages and icon has gone.
