    All caught up!

embb - hugs for littlie and well done on the window money

    Looby_Lou - welcome

L-L - sounds like a lovely day and well done on the positive attitude

Toots - continued hugs and prayers for you x

Thanks for all your positive thoughts today - I went in and spoke (for half an hour!!) to the Head who was great. She told me not to worry too much about the paperwork as OFSTED wouldn't be in this term!!!! and to do it as and when I can. Interestingly, it seems there have been incidences in school that this no-longer-a-friend has been behind. Anyway, the Head told me to go home to rest as soon as the children had gone home, and you and my wonderful class of children helped me cheer up as the day went on.

Oh, and as several of you mentioned it, I would definitely be up for an 'emergency' flylady meet sometime soon. Any ideas / dates / preferences / places please let me know and I'll attempt to co-ordinate something!

    Soappie - kitchen all done!

I've also changed our bed and hoovered and mopped the hall floor. Plus hoovered the stairs and the family room.

Hoping to stay on task this week to get the house back in shape.

Time for a little paperwork now before they all come home.

I think this is probably my last free weekend until after my brother's wedding, and I desparately need to do a long walk (10 miles or more!), so if anyone feels like joining me I'd be extremely grateful! Otherwise after work one day (this Friday and next Tuesday are currently free!) with location dependent on who is planning on turning up!

I've just been for my walk, and now can't be bothered with supper... I still need to get out into the garden

Frodders, well done for speaking to the Head - and what a good Head he/she seems to be. How interesting about the other 'incidences'! I could do Brockenhurst or somewhere similar again this Saturday if you fancied it...

All rubbish has now been put out ready for bin day tomorrow

We've all been through this - little and often is the answer!

Take out the shelves and soak them in soda crystals or laundry detergent in the bath to get the grease and burnt-on dirt out.

For the inside of the oven... I know I've posted some really good ideas before but can't remember them!

Best to start when its warm though... wipe with either a cloth soaked in vinegar (I do this every time I use it now it's clean!); solution of soda crystals (works best to get rid of the grease rather than burnt on stuff; bicarb paste... I know there was one which involved spreading a paste on, heating the oven up, then scraping it off ... maybe it was the bicarb... I'll see whether I can find it.

Anyway, don't spend too long on it, just work away and gradually it will improve until one day you realise that it's clean!

ETA - soappie... how does BB feel about a nice long walk :D

Greenbee - Were either of these your oven cleaning suggestions, I saved them both, they appear very similar?

    Version 1 -
Oven cleaning - have just come across this one, which may be worth a try - 225ml vinegar mixed with 30g washing powder (assume non-bio!). Heat oven for 5 mins to 350 degrees, spread paste on oven, paying attention to greasy areas, leave for an hour. Scrape off with plastic spatula. Wipe with a damp cloth. Final wipe should be with a cloth soaked in vingar. To prevent build-up of grease wipe after use with vinegar-soaked cloth!

Version 2 - Very grubby oven - make a paste from 1 cup vinegar, 1/4 cup washing powder. Heat the oven to max for 5 mins then switch off. Spread paste on, concentrating on greasy areas. Leave for an hour, then scrape off with plastic spatula.

Keeping oven clean - wipe with vinegar after each use

  • Evening all :hello:

Well I think I have managed to earn my first ever star today :j I have completed the kitchen and it's sparkling. Dh was so impressed when he got in apart from the fact that as I was cleaning everything I changed the kitchen round a little and now he can't find most things :p:p

I've accomplished so much today by working by this and I've found I've had more time to do other things too :j

Well done to everyone else too:T
