You've jumped from a change of rate on 0871 and 070 calls, to a comment about 0870 calls.
So, have they really changed any of your Ts & Cs to your detriment?

... er... I feel as if I'm only getting half the story here
"...And I gave that man directions, even though I didn't know the way, 'cause that's the kind of guy I am this week." -- Homer Simpson0 -
I look in the T&C and could not see any change about the 0870 / 0871 rate. (the bottom part has always been there.) So can't cancel for that
But this is new and might be able to cancel for it. Depending how you use your phone.
1. Explanation of Certain Words
1.1 In this Agreement:
"AIT" means Artificially Inflated Traffic and occurs where the flow of calls to any particular revenue share service is, as a result of any activity on or on behalf of the party operating that revenue share service, disproportionate to the flow of calls which would be expected from good faith commercial practice and usage of the Network;
6.4 You must not use or permit any other person to use the Service
(e) to generate AIT; or
8. Ending the Agreement
(b) we have reasonable cause to believe that Service is being used in a way forbidden by paragraph 6.4, even if you do not know that the Service is being used in such a way; and you do not correct the situation within 7 days of our request; or if
8.4 You may end this Agreement at any time by giving us written notice if:
(c) we increase any of the Charges for the elements of the Service you are using or change this Agreement to your disadvantage. In this situation paragraph 8.3 will not apply. "IMPORTANT BIT"0 -
Mark,
It's not nice practice to delete your original post - it makes the rest of the thread appear to not make sense.
Better forum software than this (which we are getting) won't let you delete a post once it's been replied to.
Anyway, so, back on topic.
What you are suggesting is that they are worsening your Ts & Cs by not allowing you to make calls to revenue sharing services?
I don't think that is true. Until they say to you "your usage is unacceptable" and cancel the service. And that isn't what's happened.
Whilst it could be argued that they have put in a new anti-abuse clause in the contract, you are on a sticky wicket if you claim that the only reason you entered into the contract was in order to abuse it. And if your behaviour in the past hasn't been abusive (on their definition) using it as a reason to qualify for the cancellation clause is a flaky argument IMHO.0 -
I did not edit my post
I edited the Term and condition. to highlight the point.
Cause it is spread over the whole page. It would of been worse if I posted it all and than said it is cause of revenue bit.
And I am not saying it effect me or not but it is the only thing "I" could see different in the T&C this time which the person ask for. And as one telecom company said, it is a bit vague cause depending how you look at it, one could argue using say http://www.telediscount.co.uk/ http://www.cheapestcall.co.uk/ 0844 to make calls will get that T&C kick in. but in reality what it is aim at, is people who taken out 0870 / 0844 / 0845 number range and than just call that number up solely to make money from the call revenue kickback.
but if you want to see how difficult the T&C is go and have a look, but you have to look very carefully. Cause O2 online does have a habit of "Hiding things."0 -

No, you deleted it. Like I said. And I am not saying it effect me or not but it is the only thing "I" could see different in the T&C this time which the person ask for. I don't think that clause is vague or ambiguous at all. And there's no way it could cover making calls via another provider. It is clearly aimed at people calling their own kickback numbers, as you say.
So, I don't think the change in the Ts & Cs affects you adversely. So, I don't think you have a case to end your agreement prematurely.0 -
MarK D, I did not delete it, I was replying to your original post. I was not the person who started this conversation It seem you did. but from what I gather now there was someone before who did and deleted their message. And Mark d I am not cancelling my contract.0

MarkyMarkD had a go at mark kelly:No, you deleted it. Like I said.
Calm down MarkyMarkD, - if you look at the thread's "Started By" author, you will see who has deleted their post!

Sorry Mark - I can't remember who started a thread as they were ignorant enough to delete their post.
It doesn't show who started it on the thread itself - just on the index page or wherever - so please excuse my mistake.
As the OP is no longer interested, nor am I in this thread!0
