Cancelling Virgin and getting O2 package - advice needed

Hi

I am cancelling Virgin and getting an O2 package as I've heard so many positive comments on here about it.

The only thing is that we need to have a BT line for the O2 package.

At the moment we've still got Virgin.

Can anyone advise me on how to get a BT line reinstated?

Boyfriend says it will cost us about £35 or so......... this seems quite expensive. Is there no way that we can get the O2 broadband without having to pay additional BT costs? Also is there a number to contact BT on?

You can at the moment get a BT line where "Customers will not be charged the current standard new line connection price of £122.50Inc. VAT."

see here and read the small print.

Are you saying you already have a physical BT master socket and line in the property? It's not clear from your post. if so, BT simply have to reconnect you at the exchange.

Agreed - I cancelled VM and went back to pre-installed BT line and it didn't cost anything. They BT engineer just came and checked the line was still OK.

    Thanks guys.

Sorry for not making myself clear - yes we already have a BT master socket and line at our property.

Boyfriend said that to go back to BT costs 29 pounds.

    Hi Gosia,

The basic BT Unlimited Weekend Plan line rental will cost £11.50 per month (if you sign up to a direct debit and go paperfree). If you are going to have your calls through another provider then you are better going for that package.

I can't say whether a connection fee of a deposit will apply without checking the actual address, but I take it your boyfriend has already spoken to BT about this?

If you want me to have a look so you know exactly what it will cost, PM me your address and contact details so I can find out for you.

    All the best,
    Stephanie
