    Slightly strange spec

AMD 3000 @ 2ghz would imply a socket A cpu so it is well out of date (socket 754 and 939 3000 cpu's run at 1800). However, no socket A chip ran with a 533 fsb - thats indicative of a quad pumped Intel fsb. If ordering one of these I would check the specification thoroughly.

After a little chat with the local pcw manager he agreed to sell one of these with a 17" monitor for 200quid.

It has 6x USB ports. 4 back and 2 front. It runs the amd mobile athlon.

Can't argue with that, superb value. What did the 'little chat' entail?

Looked closer and it has a 754 socket...Athlon 64. Confirmed by CPUid. The spec is listed here.....(expect the cpu is wrong)

So, are we saying it's and Athlon64 inside or not? Has anyone bought one?

The spec seems to be up the creek on PCWorld site.

    Any ideas anyone?

For £199 it looks OK for the spec.

I'm contemplating merging it with the other bits of my existing PC, the result being a 'new' PC for the kids appearing at the other end, containing what's left. Theirs is currently a Cel700 junkbox and mine's an Athlon 2400+ on an MSI KM4M-V mobo.
