It sounds like it's all connected with the above website. Part of the requirement for the 10% deposit service is that they 'negotiate the deal'. If you look at the page I've just posted, that's aimed at home sellers "We are property scouts and buyer driven. If we have called on you it means you have a possible buyer who’s looking for a particular type of property." So, they get a free lead
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    Reply from Home Buyers (UK).

To those brainless idiots and neurotic do-gooders who have posted on this thread I would ask you this, what gives you the right to post an opinion or make a statement on a business concept you know little or nothing about.

It is obvious reading these comments not one person has bothered to find out accurately how the concept works. Yes, one or two have applied and received information and it clearly states it is an overview only.

There is no underhandedness or dubious methods involved, full disclosure is applied to ALL parties and our deposit scheme has been checked by the FSA. It is a legal and well-proven way of help for first time buyers.

Please make sure in the future, you are in possession of ALL your facts before commenting on something you know little or nothing about.

Well, PRJ (Peter Jones, right?), I like to think that I'm a helpful sort of do-gooder, rather than a brainless idiot, so I'll help you out here with some advice:-

Yours seems a particularly daft response. 30 months after the last posting on this thread, you've brought it to the top of the pile again. As you know, Google searches these forums assiduously, so this collection of opinions about your company (nearly all bad) is now going to come closer to the top of the list at Google.

Your reply is rather tetchy, shall we say? It just presents you as an unpleasant person whom I would rather not deal with, that's for sure!

Do you deal with any of the criticisms that have been levelled against you or questions honestly raised? Well, no, you don't. Your only comment seems to be that people do not know how the concept works, but that is entirely down to your failure to provide the information when asked. It was a great opportunity to do so now, but you didn't take it.

All you have done, quite frankly, is bluster, and on that basis I would not touch you and your 'service' with a barge pole.

As for the FSA, I can find no listing for Home Buyers (UK) on the FSA register. There is a company "Home Buyers Solutions Limited", which is no longer authorised. There are lots of Jones on the register, but I could not find a Peter R Jones who is currently authorised.

Your website describes the company as "Home Buyers (UK)", so is that you trading under that name? If so, why doesn't your website mention your name at all?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

    @ GDB2222.

This thread was brought to my attention by a perspective client a few days ago, until then I was unaware of its existence. A response would have been posted much soon then this had it been brought to my attention soon.

The person that contacted us was offered a full explanation of our deposit scheme and a follow-up phone call was arranged. I have no reason to think they went away unhappy, in fact the opposite is true.

The same information is also available to you GDB2222 it is just a phone call away. So rather than keep speculating on what might or might not be, you only need to pick up the phone if you want to know how our scheme works.

I have nothing hide and use my initials here when posting, I have no need to hide behind a user handle for anonymity. So call us GDB2222 our number is on our website.

Calling some of your future customers brainless idiots leads me to think this company is run by them....remember the jeweller who sold crap
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Umm, Peter, I did contact you, but your reply was very bland, lacking sufficient useful detail, and afterwards I posted reply no. 31 above:-
Well, I had a phone call, from Peter Jones at Home Buyers (UK) plus a very prompt follow-up letter. Sadly, I still have no idea what their offering is. So, it's impossible to sign up for the service, because there's no application form, no terms and conditions, nothing ....

Apart from that, I have no idea whom I'm dealing with. Peter Jones signs himself "Managing Director", but neither the letterhead nor the website identify which company this is.

Frankly, Peter, if you have a great proposition, post all the details here. If it's wonderful, people will say so. If it's good but has flaws, people will point those out, and you may be able to improve it. If it's awful, people will point that out, too, and I suspect that's what you are worried about.
