How long is your local Somerfield closed for a new store refit

My local Somerfield is closed for 3 months until it has been refurbished into a Morrisons. (many people put out like pensioners)
There is no official word (net/HQ reply/sign) other than asked a builder / check out girl before they closed!
It has almost been gutted, it was weird in the last few days of trading as most of the shelves were empty!!

Are there not other stores nearby, Waitrose,Tesco, Sainsburys,Asda, Coop, Lidl, Aldi for example? That gum you like is coming back in style.0

There is a Tesco Express (5 mins) and a Tesco Metro (15 mins) But all the bigger other stores are 30 mins away.
Many can't wait for 3 months to go by!!! (all that dragging the goods home!!)0 -
I can see a nice little earner then for a few strapping teenagers to set themselves up as errand runners...
Ours burned down and was replaced by a Tesco Metro!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Ours closed last week for 3 months too. Although there's a Tesco at the other end of town, the main problem for most people is that Somerfield was the only shop which gave Scottish Power customers the option to top up their plastic keys ... now everyone's got to travel 5 miles to the nearest shop which does it ... tis a pain in the proverbial.0

Where I lived, Somerfield is becoming Sainsburys and has been shut for about a month and will be opening in early July.
They ran a git bus, for all the local pensioners to be able to go shopping, so no more free shopper bus for pensioners in the town.
Personally, I found it was a hopeless store, employing stupid staff, so it's not likely to be missed ... except Sainsburys are employing the same idiot staff.0 -

Where's yours? I don't go to Somerfield that often as it's too expensive in general, but I did try to go to the one in Brentford the other day, only to find it had closed down. I really hope that it'll become a Morrisons...0 -

Ours in East Croydon closed for 2 weeks and has now open as a Waitrose
