SGE1, unless you are being very specific about where in zone 2/3 something is not going right. Just for fun I did a couple of zone three searches to places with good access to stations and LOADS of places are coming up. I searched for 2 bed houses and pages and pages of results on Primelocation.
I have to say, I do find it annoying there is no zone search possibilty on portals for Lodon, going through by station proximity if you were searching seriously but with flexibilty would be tortuous and many purchasers are open to area within a zone. Silly really to not incorporate that.0 -

I've long worked with E/A's so thought my insight might be of use.
E/A's are like wasps - they eek out any source of sweetness and stick to it.
They quickly develop a 6th sense for the type of person they want to deal with, those being the ones that closely resemble thier past sucess's. In general they will be those that act fast, register, dont mind ginving a work number, view off the back of a phone call alone.
They simply wont get a buying signal from those they find closely resemble thier non sucessful past Human interactions.
Put yourself in thier position. You earn based on sales - not on spreading yourself thinly accross all commers.0 -
A 2 bedroom terraced period house in Z2 or 3 with a garden for 250k. Errrr. Seriously? Maybe in Zone 3 borders in somewhere nice like SE London or Waltham Forest. Something like that would be 350k+ even in Hackney. In fact you're looking for pretty much what i am, but i'm having trouble finding anything like that for less than 400k that's actually available or doesn't have glaring flaws.
I can agree with you about the agents and the annoyance of listing properties that are sold, but the problem is that there are way too many 1 and 2 bed shoebox flats, and a very limited supply of nice period houses. And people who do have those houses are either not selling or selling at 2007 prices + 20%.0 -

Can you explain a bit more what I should be doing, practically? I act fast, I register (apart from one of the Haart offices, they were too rude), I give a number, I answer calls/respond to voicemails, what else should I be doing?A 2 bedroom terraced period house in Z2 or 3 with a garden for 250k. Not really, there are a few around - asking prices more like £280-300k, but would sell for 250k I would imagine. Having done searches on all budgets, even if you increase it, there are just not that many of these sorts of houses for sale generally, I don't think it's a budget issue.Ground floor flat?0 -
Really? Were they period though? I'm pretty inflexible about that. I know some might disagree, but it's something I'm really not willing to compromise on.
I don't blame you not being flexible on it. It would certainly be my preference too. And its your home, so it better be what you are happy with (within budget) so you seem happy with your options0 -

I'll find yours, if you can find me one :T:T
Its nice looking for ''normal'' houses of which there is a choice. Makes a change from my fulltime search.
ETA: I keep hoping PN will get exasperated with my ineptitude at searching and take over for me bu she's gone and got a job,0
