If you have booked the SC budget it is budget, I would try & upgrade to the club.
The Club apts do look better & are in the best locations.
Use it as a base to get out & about in the day.
The place seems to come alive at night for entertainment though!
The kids love it!
Entertainment for adults I could not fault, really good acts when they had someone on.
A holiday is what you make of it?
So don't be put off, just have fun!0 -
Hi, We went to pontins prestatyn last year and it was ok. The chalets arent the best and not very clean but your not in them all day so its not a big issue. The kids enjoyed the swimming baths everyday and theres arcades and other small activities during the day for them. I have to be honest there isnt much there, so what we did for one day was get the bus outside the gates, bought a family pass and went to Rhyl and Towyn. The kids enjyed it as there is an open top bus!! Theres also a market in Prestatyn town. Prestatyn is a lovely place, the mountain views and countryside are lovely, its more of a relaxation place then a busy place, overall we enjoyed it.
Hope you have a nice time, its what you make of it at the end of the day!!! Enjoy.0 -
Honestly, I thought it was like holidaying in the Soviet Union. Everything is concrete and nasty.
I will say the sheets were very clean, but I couldn't say the same about the carpet or the bathroom.
It had an ash tray built into the tiles in the bathroom, and you can only have the shower OR the cooker on. Not both at the same time.
On the plus side, the area is lovely, and Rhyl has really improved over the past few years. But, I wouldn't go back to Pontins.0 -
I'm glad the area is getting good comments, we're staying at talacre beach in August just a few miles from Prestatyn.
Has anyone stayed there ? it looks good on the website, but don't they all.:beer:0 -

we went last year and had to drag
my two moaning kids,whittering on
about Butlins and how much better
it was.Well the upshot was they
had a ball and want to go back.
they loved the entertainment the
staff were really good with them
they played footie,basket ball etc
We were in the basic ones as this
was a freebie four day holiday
thanks to mse loads went.I have
to say the chalet was spotlessly
clean as I had all my cleaning
gear with me,I have stayed in the
ones a higher grade up and they
were grim but just ask to be moved
like we did the girls who clean the
basic ones do a much better job.
Just look on it as a base a good day out
go to Llandudno get the little train to the
top of the Great Orme, the cable cars are
up and running on the top of it.
Also theres a really good
large craft shop in Llandudno with lots
of very reasonably priced things for
anyone into making things.
Plenty of charity shops too:j:j:j0 -
All I can say is 'CHAVTASTIC'. prestatyn atleast, is a little cleaner than southport, but not much.0

Take slippers aswell, you won't want to walk on the carpet barefoot. I didn't.
The one in Hemsby ( we drove past) seemed to have a 6ft high metal grate fence WITH BARBWIRE on the top. I was in shock.0 -
Hemsby is now closed.0

A 3 year old will love Pontins and wont notice the ugly looking chalet! When you walk in reception to get your key there are some stairs straight ahead of you, up there is the indoor play area, you'll find auntie hazel and auntie ann! a brill play area for toddlers, they also have colouring competitions there.
There's a brill outdoor park if the weather is good. And a 3 year old girl will love the characters, in the booklet they provide with the weeks entertainment they have times of which characters will be where - time for a photo shoot! The photographer might be there but you can take your own pics. The kids fun and games is usually at 7.30 and later kids disco where the characters come out and kids dance with the blue coats. They also have little electric cars for toddlers.
any sports events are shown at the Queenvic, you can get chippy and take it into the pub.
the worst part is the pull out bed - v uncomfortable springs - take a quilt to lie on and you'll be fine, and your own pillow. otherwise just relax and enjoy.
We've been going to Prestatyn for 11 years, been to Southport and Blackpool but I'd only go to Prestatyn now as the others were dia!!0
