I'd agree with other posters. Not a lot of earnings personally with Lightspeed, just prize draws. Haven't had any vouchers etc. But am also hoping the new rewards system proves better. Test&Vote, Pigsback and Ciao are good, Ciao being the only one I've banked any money from so far, but have only been doing all these kind of things for a couple of months!

You've obviously got a much more attractive profile than me.Dormouse wrote:I've had a few where you're guaranteed a voucher
Er, market-research-wise, that is, of course.

Thanks to everyone on here, OH and I have £30 worth of John Lewis/Waitrose vouchers! I've bought a couple of things through Pigsback, but all the other points have come through competitions and click-throughs. Some of these I wouldn't have found if it wasn't for you lot. OH can't believe that we've got something for practically nothing!
Big thanks to jockettuk for pushing me in this direction in the first place!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 #18 £2021.83 declared0 -

, yet it should not be.
The reposting of comps, click-throughs, etc., is boring for people like me, who spend far too much time on the forum. On the other hand, it can be useful for people who have to pay brief visits to the thread, and don't have time to read through everything.
In the case of our thread here, the only thorough way of checking is to read the whole thread - but then, if you're a keen PB-er, that's what you want to do, isn't it?
It's good to rely on contributors' thoroughness, as you can click on links with confidence. Unfortunately, I usually find that, clicking on many links, I get PB's "You've already entered this comp" message. Frustration and time wasted.
Now, I know that I can be a little abrasive at times (in fact, it's part of droopsnout's persona when it comes to criticising PB), but I do try to be polite when being critical! I must say that if I have a criticism of Marigold123, it is that she is FAR TOO NICE!!!
I am sure that she meant her response to patwinning's post to be gentle and informative.
Droopsnout, you always manage to sum things up so well!
It is really difficult to offer advice to other users particularly about duplications and searching threads/forums before posting. Obviously, people post links because they want to help other people and it can be hurtful to feel that they are being criticised for doing so.
When I was Board Guide for this board, it was always difficult striking the right tone when advising people how to search and the best place to find out existing information.
I also think Marigold 123's response was very well-phrased and well-meant and it is unfortunate that the op took this to be a criticism rather than useful advice about checking the initial post on this thread.
I wish everybody on the board tried to be equally as tactful and mindful of other people's feelings. 0 -
Thanks, jo_b.jo_b wrote:Droopsnout, you always manage to sum things up so well!
Actually, having been away from the thread for a couple of hours, and now re-reading it, I realise that my post would have been improved if I had referred to Cuppa's posts at the beginning of the thread, where pretty well everything a newbie PB-er could wish for is to be found. That would in most cases avoid the need for reading the whole thread.
Another problem for us old-time PB-ers is, of course, that this is the seventh (I think) thread we've all created!!Much of the social history of the Western world over the past three decades has involved replacing what worked with what sounded good. - Thomas Sowell, "Is Reality Optional?", 19930 -

Rewards - If it is the first time you have ordered a reward (this does not apply if you have ordered a reward before), you will be asked to validate your account by giving a mobile phone number, this must be a mobile phone number not used before to validate a Pigsback account. This is Pigsback's method of making sure that there is only one account per individual and not several accounts owned by one individual.
Hi
Just a quick question about validating account. I didn't enter a phone number when joining Pigsback, which I realise now was maybe a good thing. Don't have landline, only mobile, so will I be able to validate account by just filling in mobile number when it comes to claiming first reward?
Many thanks, Cat0 -

It's a mobile number you need to input. They send a validation code to it.
