Wow - I'm impressed! I had assumed that the visit was close now and you'd have to pay horrendous prices for non-discounted tickets. I do hope that the trains run smoothly or my name will be mud. If you do get delayed by more than an hour, you can claim back a good proportion of the cost of your tickets. You certainly can't claim for sitting in a traffic jam.

Just thought I'd give you the cost - £103 return, Telford to Euston. With my calcs allowing for all w+t on my car, tyres etc plus fuel & c/park, I don't get this to be too different. Plus, I get the opportunity to (hopefully) enjoy a more relaxed journey & spend some active time with my family. One drawback in not having a car though is that we can't really take suitcase with a change of clothes each. We are only staying overnight and the check-in at the Travelodge is not before 3 p.m. with c/out at 12 a.m. & I don't fancy lugging a case full of gear around town all day.
