Ask them if you can pay the balance transfer cheque into your bank account and then make a manual payment to Vanquis.
I would call Vanquis a bunch of W*nkers but I don't think they are intelligent enough to manage it.

I guess one option would be to apply for a second mainstream card, make the payment with that as a cash transaction then balance transfer onto your first card.0

Can you balance transfer the money form your 0% credit card into your bank account, and then use that to pay off the Vanquis card.
My Virgin card lets me do this.0 -
Although this may not be a nice way of doing it..... Since you now have a mainstream card (I'm making an assumption), your interest rates will be something like 17.9% purchases and 25.9% cash. Ok so its not ideal and you can't take advantage of any balance transfer special offers, but could you just withdraw cash and pay it off that way and straight away bring your interest rate down a great deal?0

with citibank, they sent me a cheque attached to a letter for the b/t amount explaining that they were having difficulties crediting their account. The cheque was payable to Vanquis for the b/t amount I requested on my citi application and was classed as a b/t not a CC cheque....
So if the new lender says they cannot do a b/t to vanquis just get a cheque made payable to vanquis and then the lender should treat it as a b/t cos the cheque is, in effect, useless to anyone other than vanquis!2010 - year of the troll

I would have done this but I already did some balance transfers before I was aware of the problem... just very unfortunate I guess.Official DFW Nerd number 227

Do you still have your Capital One card with zero balance? If so, withdraw cash on it (hear me out!) enough to cover the Vanquis debt. Pay of Vanquis with the cash, then BT the Capital one balance to your Nationwide card. You will pay a small amount of interest on your Capital One card and there may be residual interest to take care of as well. This also assumes you have enough available credit on your Nationwide card.0

I've BTed off Vanquis to HSBC. It was done online through the HSBC website with no problem.
Mel.Though no-one can go back and make a brand-new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand-new ending.
