WARNING!! e2save and orange billing for pink v3
I dont know if this has been covered before or not but feel very strongly that others should know so they dont go and get charged extra like i have done.
I had the pink Motorola V3 from e2save recently which has the 12 month cashback on 12 month plan 1000 x-net minutes at £25 per month. This was ordered on 4th March and delivered 10th March. I gave it to my daughter and told her the conditions of use (off peak hours and no more than 1000 minutes per month) which she has been sticking to. She uses it mostly to phone her boyfriend in the evening.
The first bill came and i was shocked to see it was £45.20 and not the original £25. I didnt expect a bill so soon either but the cost bothered me the most. I checked over the bill and the itemised calls were showing charges for what should have been inclusive calls within the contract (off peak and free but was getting charged).
I phoned orange up (indian women answered who was a little difficult to understand) and asked why this had happened. She didnt see the problem at first but then explained that the billing cycle for orange is from the 19th of the month (maybe other orange users could verify this) to the 18th of the next. As the phone was received before this, 10th (although on bill it has 8th) we would only get that many days of minutes free which she said was about 330 minutes and as the minutes totalled 460 (or somewhere there) then the extra minutes were chargable.
I asked why i wasnt told about this and she said i should have been told by e2save. I went on and on about how i thought this was all wrong and someone should be held responsible for telling people and she said hold on and she would see what she could do. When she came back she said she could take £7 off and we left it at that.
Now i dont know if its just me, but when the phone got delivered and was signed for, i would have thought that would be the start of the month and we get to use the 1000 minutes from then for the month ahead. If its not just me and there are others out there who think the same then just be warned.

TBH that's always how any orange contracts work. They always pro rata the minutes depending on when you connect in the month, I had a letter telling me this within a few days of signing up. Just had my 1st bill (my talkplan is the same net 1000 mins) and even though I've not made a call on it yet the bill is £24.ish which is the part month, and the full rental of the following month.
Maybe the best way to think aout your tariff is to think of it as 30 mins per night and you won't be so far over yr talktime then. HTH0 -
Yes orange always pro rata the minutes when you first connect. Always best to confirm the contract details with the provider when you get the phone, and check the minutes allowed etc. Glad you sorted it out though.0

other networks do this too not just orange
TIP: When you take any contract at all ALWAYS DO THE FOLLOWING
1. Ask what date your direct debit is due out the bank
2. What day your minutes start / reset
3. Ask them what amount of pro rata'd allowance you have to use between now and the date your minutes reset!
4. Confirm the tariff is correct which you signed up to!
Customer services on contracts are available on the following numbers from your handsets
VODA - 191
Tmob - 150
orange - 150
three - 333
02 - 202 - I believe
Hope this helps a bit:beer:0
