You can resit A-levels exams as many times as you wish with no cap on the maximum grade achievable.0

When you get 477/600 in your Business A Level and its 480 for an A you think damn why didn't I take advantage!0 -

The system of resits for 'A'level is made a bit fairer by the fact that many of the better Universities will not accept results that include such a resit. For very popular courses they will often make an offer to someone with the rerquired grade achieved at first sitting rather than to someone who had to resit.Mt daughter had to get a minimum B at A'level in Spanish to do her English and Spanish Law degree and was warned that she would not be offered a place should she have to resit it.The_One_Who wrote: »I'll never understand that system.Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -
Not at the two universities I've worked at. If you fail a module during the second or third years you have to carry that fail and it's calculated as part of your average / aggregate. If you fail two modules, you can only get a pass degree. There's clearly some discrepancy between institutions. Are you sure? I thought it was conventional to be allowed 1 resit, irrespective of the year you are in, which is capped at 40%.3-6 Month Emergency Fund #14: £9000 / £10,0000 -

This is true for A-level exams, but very few retake these as it means retaking the year normally. Most retake their AS-levels which contribute 50% to their final A-level grade.
AS-level exams also tend to seem rather much easier after having spent the year learning the level above them so you're almost guaranteed a higher mark in them. Not at the two universities I've worked at. I should have been clearer. You are only allowed to retake them if not having a pass in the module means you would fail the year, if you fail a module but still pass the year it would be carried forward.0
