WHAT is the fastest and free web browser??

It may not be the fastest, but the API allowing the add-ons really makes it stand out for me. I don't really care if it shaves a few milliseconds off the loading time if it takes me an age to load up the next page when I want it, in firefox, autopager loads up the next page of the forum as I read and displays it as if it were all one page.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Reasonable review of chrome here
safari 4 looks impressive but i despise the look of it
i hate that grey
thats the only reason keeping me from macs to be honest, having that boring grey look when the rest of the computer and os looks so sumptuous!
ill stick with chrome:)Back by no demand whatsoever.0 -
Firefox isnt slow, even IE isnt that slow so you clearly have something amiss with your computer:idea:0

I'll second chrome, I was a bit dubious about it at first, but I wouldn't swap it for ANYTHING now...If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

safari imo, although it seems fairly limited as to what other things you can do with it.0

Well that's very much a matter of personal taste. I happen to think it looks rather simple and elegant. There's a UI refresh coming in the next version of OS X, but if anything, it'll probably look even more grey in line with Apple's pro apps.
But, Safari 4 on Windows looks like a native Windows application now:0 -

well its looks nice but i dont think i could ever go back from the omnibar
im comletley hooked!
i also liek the in built taskmanger and separation of apps from tabs
one thing i have noticed with the beta of chrome 2 is the controls in some full screen flash videos become unuseable and you must press esc to use the controls. bit annoying but only on like 5% of flash videosBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -
I have been a firefox user since v1 but of late it is sloow too load up, not quite as bad as IE but Chrome can be quite resource hungry.
Opera is lean mean and quick. But I just dont like the look and some pages dont load properly on it.2023 wins - zilch, nada, big fat duck. quack quack,0 -
Definitely definitely CHROME! It is so much faster than firefox and IE.
To compare browser speeds use the Peacemaker browser benchmarker from Futuremark.com.0
