Really cross British Gas Electric
I went thru one of the comparison companies in Dec to switch my Electic to Briish Gas.
It was supposed to be a tariff that was online billing and one months cashback and prices frozen till 2007.
Today I had a paper bill sent to me, none of the price per KWH matched what I was supposed to be on, miles higher.
I called and was told I have to photocopy all I was sent when I switched and post it to them for them to see if they will alter my rate. Surely if they sent it then they should know????
As a result i have a bill for a quarter that is over £30 HIGHER than what it would have been if i had stayed where I was.
Whats the betting I have to call again as my photo copies will go missing, why can't they just sort it out over the phone??

Similar happenned to me:mad: Do what i did,i asked once, got no satisfaction so changed supplier straight away.British gas are one of the worst customer services in my opinion untill you leave them then its creep creep creep. To late bg you had your chance0 -
The problem is that the comparison sites often do not truely reflect the charges and tarifs companies have.
This forum is littered with people who have discrepancies in the switch sites advertised prices, and the actual ones.
You need to provide the info because BG have in excess of 14 million product relationships, and occasionally paperwork goes awry. Not everything is kept on file and we have been implementing a full system change since December.
It is in your best interest to provide the paperwork - if BG are the wrong they will sort it out, but you have to remember that anyone could ring up and say they were offered lower tarrifs and demand a reduced rate - BG will not just take peoples word for it because that wouldn't be very sensible! It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
When we went with them years ago they really screwed us over they refused to recognise us as a Electric Customer, they would not bill us in the end when we got it into their thick heads, they billed us a silly amount.
I had to fight tooth and claw with the help of the energy watchdog....just left them for Southern Electric for both services....ah bliss customer services with real humans and care. At last....goof bye British !!!!!!."Don't panic just chill out and smile"

But surely they should know what paperwork they have sent me telling me that my price is fixed till 2007. How would I know otherwise!!!!
If I am a new customer and they told me in writing what i am to pay they should have my account set up to charge me that amount.
The Invoices on the back states " we aim to sort out any query with one call" so why do I have to do all the donky work to get what I signed up for.
The price promise leaflet states if I move supplier before 2007 I would be charged I think £20!! Can I charge BG for there error, my time on expensive 0845 number and photocopies I have had to make and postage. To be put onto what I signed up for.
Do BG have a charter one that say should we make a mistake we compensate?0 -
If British Gas gave compensation for every error they made they would have gone bankrupt by now!0
