Garage Damaged my new car..

My final line is perhaps a little harsh, many co's will treat your complaint seriously without involving TS but clearly not this VW dealership!
When you speak to the "business manager" slip in the Sale of Goods Act and the fact you intend to speak to your local TS - I'll be interested in the reaction!!
Best of luck.0 -
thanks for the help and suggestions.. dont they have 3 attempts to try and rectify the situation under the "sales of goods" act?0

There are chips all over the bonnet and grill (its a fast car so im guessing someone had a good run in her although is just a guess)
Its most likely been thrashed the hell out of. Red lining it etc etc I would guess most likely by some pillock who has no respect for other people's property
I would not be impressed, do not accept it back, complain about the chips and ask them for an explanation and them to rectify them.
Don't let them fob you off!0 -
ISTR a story of a garage being caught out with a car tracking system installed by the owner, and in the garage's care it was caught excessively speeding past a school.0

The VW dealer, knowingly sold you a new car that had suffered serious transit damage, insist on a new undamaged replacement vehicle, nothing less.
It sounds like it has been contracted out to some back street paint shop for bodged repairs, there is no excuse for visible dust particles to be visible in the paint finish.
I would reject the vehicle by writing to VW, include photo's.0 -
Just seen this thread...
I'd definitely be wanting a NEW car, especially seeing as it's little over a month old. I paid for a new car, I want a new car.
This is why I'd never buy a new car. 3-years at the youngest, after it's had it's first MOT and the coke cans have been removed from the door sills.
IF I was to buy a new car, then I'd be distraught to be in your position. So much so that they'd have to supply a new car or I'd completely dig my heels in.0 -
Spoke to them again and they are saying thats the best they can do in terms of a paintjob and have talked about compensation if i accept it.
In terms of a partial refund how much is a realistic expectation? 5% of that cars value? 2%? 1%?
ive no idea about where to aim on this if anyone has any experience or pointers before i go in to negotiate would be appreciated0 -

So would I, I simply would not accept anything less than a new replacement.0 -
accident damaged in transit? More damage at garage? I'd be looking at a replacement personally.0
