Every time I open a new tab on Internet Explorer it shows thumbnails of lots of sites I've been on. How do I stop this? In the right hand corner it says Google toolbar. Do I have to get rid of the Google toolbar to stop these coming up? I just find them annoying!

I think this is the Google Toolbar generating a 'Most Visited' new tab.

To disable - click on the Google toolbar's little 'wrench' (spanner) icon toolbar_wrench.gif.
On the search tab, deselect the 'Enable the Google new tab page' checkbox.
    Click Save

    See here for info
  • You'd be better just uninstalling the toolbar in Control Panel if you don't like it or use it.

bluboy - just done it, many thanks!

MoneyGrabber - I do like the toolbar because it saves me going to the website every time, it was the new tab page which was annoying!

You don't need the toolbar to do that: there's a search box in the upper right-hand corner which you can set to use a variety of search engines, including Google.
