Well it seems to me then, if you've had one you wouldn't give it up for the world, but if you've never had one then you won't miss what you didn't have - so too speak. HTH0

(only joking... luv her to bits really)0 -
The other good thing about DW is that when you have people round for a meal, they dont feel obliged to help wash up, so you don't have to worry about them seeing the state the inside of your cupboards are in! : )0

I had no idea you could get dishwashers for dolls houses!!! My poor old occupants will be very miffed at me for not buying them one - mind you, might look a bit odd in their Victorian setting though?
If you wash your dishes by hand/sink method, you really shouldn't need to keep replacing fresh water if you wash your dishes in the right order.
Never had a dishwasher (apart from dh and dk's ) so I can't comment on those.
I know my kitchen doesn't have room for one.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ive only had my dishwasher 3 weeks and its now a valued member of the family, its ennergy efficient...i checked b4 i bought it, only goes on once a day or once every 2 days when its full up, glasses and plates come out spotless and gleaming, its so nice not to have dirty dishes left lying around plus it saves on arguments as whos gonan wash up and dry, i really wouldnt be with out it now, I buy ny dishwasher tablets n salt from wilkinsons as they tend 2 have lots of offers on also there own make is really good too, theres currently an offer on here for some "Glist" free ones which ive just sent off for.£2 coin savers club = £118

I love my dishwasher too. Even though I live alone, I do make good use of it. I don't bother heating a tank of water these days, especially since I would generally be doing a small amount of washing up at a time. The dishwasher takes care of the dishes water and I have an electric shower for myself.
When I'm waiting for the kettle to boil, or whatever then I'll empty the DW, it only takes a few minutes, so not too much of a chore. In the days without DW there would inevitably be dirty cutlery, pans and cups hanging around, or washed up cups sitting upside down on the draining board - it definitely helps keep the kitchen tidy.0 -
Hi
I have done a search but could not find anything.
I use my dishwasher every 2-3 days and use supermarket own powder.
However would it be cheaper to wash up once a day? I have instant gas heated hot water.
Thanks
Ps My Dishwasher is cold fill only, so electric to heat it up.

my dishwasher is cold fill only but i have handwashed for over 6 months now. When i use the sink and don't use my tumble dryer either i save on average £50 on my electric bill. I have had to use TD the last few weeks due to bad weather but the dishwasher is staying off. I would get rid of it but then it would leave a big hole in the kitchen so for now it is just 'for show' lol. i also found the DW didn't always clean the items properly. Now i spend 99p a fortnight for washing up liquid and have perfectly clean dishes!!0

i hand wash only as i dont have room for dishwasher,if i had room i would get one but a friend has one she stocks it up and realises she needs to use it again so ends up washing up by hand anyway,i think they are great if you have a large family:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

For me the dishwasher has always been about saving time over washing up by hand, a big consideration if you work fulltime and have a family to washup for! And I think that 99% of the time the dishes are far cleaner than by hand - squeaky clean is how my DH puts it! Sometimes we need to cost our time too!Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!0
